Music as a Passion

For two decades, playing instruments has been one of my passions. Starting in the late 1990's recording onto blank cassette tapes, then graduating to digital recordings, my musical talent has progressed from not only drumming, but playing guitar as well. During middle school and up through high school I participated in their anual talent show where I played free style drums. I did take formal drum lessons for a short period of time in the early 2000's then I took two years of guitar lesson around 2007 at a local music store in Hatboro PA, called Deluca Music. In 2007 after joining a social network for blind folks, I was introduced to a very talented musician from Michigan, Kyle Frownfelter. Since then him and I have recorded several song ideas most of which have been posted to my official Youtube channel. Kyle is a fantastic guitar player to which I have added my own drum tracks. Living in apartments has been challenging to record real drums, which is why in 2017 I ventured into the realm of electronic drums, building a custom kit from scratch. here are a couple of my favorite tracks from over the years.

Kyle is a fantastic and talented guitarist. The following is a solo track he recorded on his classical guitar, called alone. This song was quad tracked in D standard.

2023/2024 has been a crazy year for AI. Along with the numorous AI platforms has come a number of AI music generation tools. One of the first ones that was the first real usable platform was Suno AI, which is still a fantastic place to generate new song ideas. the following are two of my favorite tracks i've generated and these are also published on my Youtube channel as well. The following track is called Blind Visionary, an inspirational song that encapsulates my success in crypto but my focus on accessibility and showing others the path to success.

Accessibility and Digital Audio Workstations

Audio production software has been hit or miss over the years in terms of accessibility. first, there was Cakewalk 9, then Cakewalk Sonar which could be used with the Sonar JAWS scripts from Dancing dots which was the standard for many years, that was until around 2016 when Reaper really came on the scene as the go to accessible digital audio workstation for blind musicians and engineers on Windows. Mac users were fortunate enough to have a couple options as not only Reaper, but Pro Tools and Logic offered a very accessible experience and still do. As of version 12, Ableton has been yet another up and coming choice for producers on Windows. Linux users have had notorious issues recording as there hasn't been a cohesive sound system that was able to handle both speech through Orca and allow for simultanious input of an audio interface. It can be done, as Kyle for many years was a die hard Linux user, but it was quite a process to record using only a command line interface.
